The houses here

Catalina is largely a settled residential suburb, brick veneer and fibro on decent blocks, plus the newer builds that have gone in around the country club. Set back from the open water it holds paint better than the beachfront suburbs, so the jobs here are more often a full interior repaint or a tidy-up of a house going to market than an emergency on a failed exterior.

What the weather does to paint in Catalina

Being a street or two off the water buys you a few years, not immunity. What Catalina gets instead is shade and moisture. Big established trees mean south walls that never fully dry, and that shows up as mould and lichen on render and on the roof. Treating that properly rather than blasting it off is what stops it coming straight back through the new coat.

Furniture gets covered and floors get sheeted before anything is opened.
