Moruya is a proper working town rather than a holiday village, and the mix shows it. Older weatherboard and brick homes through the town, a solid commercial strip, farm properties on the flats along the river, and the separate beachside pocket out at the heads. Those last two need very different treatment from each other.

What the weather does to paint in Moruya

Set back on the river, the town itself is largely out of the salt, so the pressures are sun, dust and age rather than coastal failure. Out at Moruya Heads it flips completely and you are back to full beachfront exposure. Farm buildings and sheds add another problem again, which is bare and rusted steel that needs treating before it gets a colour.

What happens on the day

Furniture gets covered and floors get sheeted before anything is opened. Andrew and the crew work through the surfaces in order, the gear goes away at the end of each day, and you get your house back each evening rather than living in a work site for a fortnight.
