A bush block on the coast is the hardest combination for a paint finish. Salt from one direction, constant damp shade and leaf litter from the other. Houses that sit empty do worse again, because nobody is there to notice a blocked gutter or a wet wall until it has been wet for a season. Getting the moisture sorted is most of the job.
